Cedars Edge Llamas B&B

Llamas and lodging in a beautiful country setting

Llamas

If you are not already acquainted with a llama you are in for a special experience as you get to know our unique herd.

Llamas are by nature curious animals who like to be with people.  They have a dignified aristocratic manner and are extremely gentle in disposition, making them exceptionally good with children.  Llamas communicate their individual personalities and moods with their special language of ear,  head, and tail position, and by their delightful vocalization of humming.  They are very clean and quiet animals.

Llamas have an elegant beauty.  They have a beautiful and useful wool coat.  Their woll comes in a variety of colors, from black to gray and white, apricot and buff to a deep chocolate brown and everything in between.  Markings are diverse, ranging from appaloosa to larger color patches, roan and solid colors.

Llamas live 20 to 30 years and make great pets and hiking companions.  Their padded feet allows them to have a minimal impact on back country trails.  This combined with their natural ability to carry a pack has made for a growing number of llama enthusiasts among hikers and hunters.

Llamas are economical to keep.  They are comparable in cost to feeding a large dog.  Llamas are amazingly hardy animals and have very few problems with disease.  They are easily trainable, and learn very quickly.

We welcome you to come meet our llamas and experience first hand the fun of having a llama for a friend.
